Rabbit

Place: Phoenix, AZ
Date: May 2, 2017, 4:48 pm
Equipment: Nikon D7200, AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR @ 500mm, G1325, RRS BH-55
Exposure: ISO 800, Aperture priority spot metered, 1/160th @ f/5.6
Raw, PS CC 2017 on Mac, cropped to 79% of full frame

I’ve not been getting any chance to go out for photos for the past couple of months it seems, and now that we’re running high temps of 105-113 I don’t expect to be out again for a while. But I do have a lot of backyard shots to work with instead.

We are overrun with rabbits. My wife accidentally kicked this one out of cover while watering, and it is the smallest wild rabbit we’ve ever seen.

Cute facial features. Nice light. The DOF works well.   But these cute bunnies can be a terror to the garden.  I had to build wire rabbit fences this year to protect my garden now that all the neighborhood  outdoor cats have passed on and the owls are fewer in number.

Too cute, Rich. A juvenile, isn't it? Without being too anthropogenic, he looks more indignant that scare.

Adorable, Richard. Nice low eye to eye comp. Hard to believe something so cute can be such a nuisance.

Awwwwww, what a cute little bunny!  Love the sharpness and the very alert expression of the rabbit.  It does look like a very small one.  A fine catch, Richard.

Title could be: "First he ate some lettuces and some French beans, and then he ate some radishes." A little late but a perfect cover image for The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter. I commented that the cuteness factor was high with the quail chick, but this one exceeds that.

Wonderful, very special image.  I love the way he is sitting and the way his head is turned, and, of course, those eyes!
