American Night

From American Basin in the San Juans of Colorado, this is a blend of two images.  The land shot was taken after sunset when there was still enough light to preserve some detail, and the starry sky a few hours later when the MW had risen in a darker sky.

Doug, your mix looks great!  The landscape shows lots of detail, but at a darkness level that fit very well with the fine starry sky.

Beautiful image, Doug. Nicely taken for both composite images, and well put together. I like that you kept the foreground dark.

Gorgeous, Doug.  An excellent conception and very well executed.  The after sunset light on the valley works perfectly with the starlit sky to give the illusion that the land is lit by all those stars.

Gorgeous!  Well balanced light in sky and foreground...very authentic looking.  Not overly boosted ...nuanced and delightful.  Congrats!
