Laughing and Splashing

Laughing Gull, taken on the Delaware Bay side of Cape May.  The whites are too hot with loss of detail, but I liked the pose and the splashing water and being from the west coast this was a life bird for me.

Canon 7D Mark II
Sigma 150-600 at 403 mm
1/2000 at f7.1
ISO 320

Thanks for looking.  Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Despite some of the issues with the image, this is a nice look at this Laughing Gull.  Although I am no expert, perhaps you could try toning things down with some luminosity masks.  It might improve the contrast in the blown out areas.

Congrats on the lifer Allen, very challenging lighting as its both backlit and bright, in this situation you probably did about as well as you can do and the effect is a bit like rim lighting. devil
