Crab-eating Fox

I know the comments I am going to get, no the fox is not carrying a crab, the name of the species is Crab-eating Fox.  This is another image of the mother moving one it's newborn kits from an old den under Piuval Lodge in the Pantanal of Brazil to another location on the property.  She was moving because a rainstorm had made her den wet we think.  The mother carried several kits one at a time from the old den to the new den.

Hi Nate,

That look has some intensity.  She looks like a good mom that knows how to keep her kits safe.  I like the out of the corner coming at you.  Good low position for the shot makes this one special. Well done...................Jim

What a neat image. That seems like a strange name for a fox, but you did a great job of catching this behavior in a super image.  Yeah, that's a pretty determined look in her eye!

She looks like a good, wet mother Nate. I too love that intense look in her eyes. I would like to see more of her if there are more to come. I know your keying in on and focused on the eyes and the pup, but with the bare BG, the overall composition feels a bit off balance to me somehow.

The little one is really freshly born. At first I thought it was a kill until I read your post. Great image. The color, action, the leg lift and dof are all great. I really like this.

Great image, sharp where it needs to be.  Subjective thought...I would opt for a vertical and suspect you have plenty of pixels for such a crop.

What a feeling that must have been to witness this. Nice low angle.
