A real nice look at the Grosbeak.  I like the pose and  perch.  The detail looks great and there's a nice complimentary background.

A terrific pose, perch, and setting. The colors are very intense and saturatied - I've never seen a grosbeak show such intense color.

A great pose, David. That perch and background work really well. You have very nice detail in the Grosbeak.

Wow David, this BHGB's head and face are tack sharp. I like this pose and the mosses a lot. I liked your earlier post of this guy, but I like the DOF and detail better here.

Beautiful bird on a great image.
The details on the bird, sharpness and colors, are great.

A very nice posting indeed David, cool HA, body pose & detail. If the perch could have continued up (in an ideal world) I feel that would have been better. The incredible 'smooth' background I find jars a little, especially at ISO400 where there would be zero noise, I would not apply anything to it and just keep - as shot, I feel it then adds more to the capture. With a 600mm it should compress the BKG anyway so you will have a cool looking backdrop to separate the subject well, although I have seen images where folk have actually used a printed backdrop to create the effect.

Overall nice work David

Nice pose and good work with the fill flash.  Fine pose, perhaps slightly oversaturated.

A really cool pose and super sharp image, David.  I don't know about the saturation level, but it doesn't look like too much to me.

Excellent capture, David!  The shallow DOF makes it appear very 3D and the head is in perfect focus with great detail.  Love the colors of this bird and the complimentary green in the background.  Very nice!

Yup, that attitude is easy to see, haha. He was sure giving you a great pose! The detail in the feathers is just insane. I gotta say, I'm a sucker for birds on mossy branches, so this photo is definitely a winner in my books! ;)
