Here is a hairstreak butterfly after awakening.  I posted a photo in art a week or so ago, with a little hairstreak nestled inside the a daylily.   I found this one a few days later in the morning.  I love the colors...

Just beautiful. I wish the butterfly had been facing more towards you, but it is still very nice.

I also have a cute one with his/her "tail lights" lit up!  I'll post it later.  I already posted one a week ago with a hairstreak inside of a daylily getting ready for bed.  The butterfly is facing us, but it looked so dreamy, as it was dusk,  that I used a little "pixie dust" and put it in the Art Gallery...cool  You can see it there.

Beautiful composition and shot Lucy, my only suggestion would be to tone down a few of the brighter highlights on the flower, well done. devil

This is beautiful Lucy. I love the patterns on the wings, the colors and composition overall are really pleasing.

The colorful, artistic surroundings make this a great look at this little bf, Lucy.  I don't have my butterfly books handy, but I'm thinking that this may be a Red-banded Hairstreak.

Hi Lucy,

You may have been able to shift yourself to the left a bit to get the butterfly in a more lateral position for the shot.  Colors are nice, BG is a tad bright and the anthers are very hot so saturation could be dropped back too............................Jim

Hi Lucy,

My thoughts exactly parallel Nate's, so I won't repeat. But very nicely done and thanks for sharing this one!

Cheers...
