Blast from the past

Blast from the past!
Cleaning out one of my transparency cabinets today I came across a folder which had fell off the rails. Thety were all Gannet slides which I,d forgotton all about.
They were taken on a memorable trip to Bass Rock which supports the worlds largest Northern Gannet colony. It was a long time ago so the equipment was what you might say “a little basic” (Nothing changes.) The trip was 47 years ago- 1970.
My wife had to stop on the mainland all day as no dogs were allowed on the island..
Jumping off the boat was a little hairy. Some folks never got off.
The camera was a Pentax S1A and the lens a Tamron 70-210mm (Remember them?)
Film was ecktachrome 200 ASA – wow-200ASA!!!
That’s all I can remember.
I copied these on my D7100 with a home made copier and a Nikor 40mm macro.
Techs are rubbish but a little bit of nostalgia.
Cheers

And thanks of those who looked and commented on my last shot posted.

6 commentsJust a bit of fun really. Heres one of part of the colony.
Thanks
John
Ps
Didn,t have time to take out all the spots, scratches and fungus !!!
Amazing how things have changed in photography. Flight stuff would have been so easy with todays gear. The birds just hang in the wind !

For all your work, the photograph looks great. I remember ecktachrome 200 ASA and the really fast 400 ASA. People should think about that when they are setting the ISO to 1600 and above.

Great quality to this, but equipment still worked back then, just very much harder.
