Ant on Peony Bud

I never knew before I shot these images that peonies depend on ants to help the outer petals unfurl so the flower can blossom. A symbiotic relationship...we take the good with the bad (and the ugly!)

Lori, I don't see any bad/ugly here.  The details in the ant are great, with it "fuzz" showing well.  The colors from the peony make a terrific background and you've got enough dof to let bud and it's details be an integral part of the image.  I also like how you've placed both the bud and the ant in the frame.

Excellent detail in this tiny little ant, Lori.  That is nice to know that ants are such a help.  We have fire ants here, and I am not sure they have a "good purpose"!  Nicely composed and shot.
