Not sure what variety of rhododendron this is, but it's the most showy I've ever seen.  From a local garden. I've added a general view in a comment below.

A group of these flowers - typically rising high into the sky.

Don't see many this colour Ian. I,m into them a bit but I dom't know this one. Very pleasant it is too. The leaf formation may give a clue as to what group its in.. I like the second picmost I think.

I like the general shot. The black LRC is a takeaway for me. I spent a brief few minutes in Google images looking for this, but gave it up. There are over a thousand varieties of Rhododendrons!

Very nice again, Ian. Good, clean image. The comp, detail and color are all quite good.

The detail and in-focus parts are much more visible in the larger version.  I think Phil and some other people have started using white instead of black.  Next time I need a background color I'll probably try white, too.  The grouping of flowers is quite spectacular.

I love this version too Ian. The flower is splendid and takes after an azalea.

Very nice Ian.  I love the color.  The somewhat stronger light works well too.  Nice comp with the flower coming in from the corner.
