Here's one of a  cormorant taking off with a piece of nesting material in it beak. Nikon D500, Sigma 150-600 at 1/2500, f/8 and Auto ISO 560. Richard

I like this action shot. Too bad the lighting was not that great on the bird.

Nice action and good angle on the subject Richard. I do feel the comp feels a little awkward. I know you were trying to show the water splashes, but I am not sure the reflection is adding much in this one, especially since it isn't prominent. I might be more tempted to crop off most of the bottom, add some back to the top and left (if you have it) and maybe go with a pano crop. Just a thought. Still nice job nabbing hte action in this one!

Really good action shot! I love the "foot step" take off. The photo seems to be lacking in detail in the shadows. Upping the brightness and possibly the shadow slider could probably bring out more detail.

Repost is a big improvement Richard. Really brightened up the details and the pano crop brings attention right to the great action.

Thanks for doing the repost.  It's a much better image now.  These cormorants are fun to watch.  I rarely get this close and when I do I typically don't have my camera.  Nice job.
