Willet at Rest

The Eastern Willet is one of the more numerous shore birds in Gulfport, shot last week in afternoon light in early stages of breeding colors.  They are regularly so active while feeding that it's often a challenge to follow and frame right.  Admittedly this a bit static, but I liked clean surroundings and transitional plumage.  Cropped to 4x5 aspect from top.

Sweet, Bill.  I like the pose and head turn and the shadow is really cool.  I'd be tempted to take a tad off the bottom, but that's just me.

What a beautiful, shiny bird!  I love the colors and detail, and the background is great.  I agree with Dennis about taking just a bit off the bottom.

Very nice color and detail.  What I like about this image is the shadow.  Good textures throughout.

Great look at this Willet, Bill. Great detail in the bird and a very nice background. Maybe just a tad bit tight side to side.

I like this as posted Bill and like the placement in the frame. I also like the shadow and clean BG. Nice work
