Black-capped Chickadee

This is just a Chickadee but I really liked the bird against the colors of the background.  It might need a head turn.  Taken on a rainy day.

Iso 800, 600 mm, F9, 320th, D 500, fill flash at zero,  60% full frame, tripod, Topaz, TK five luminosity masks, TK actions

Really pretty, nice detail, I agree that a head turn would make it better.

Great detail in this David. The perch and the background are both very nice. I also like the placement in the frame and yea, more head turn would be nice but this is a very nice profile pose. I don't mind it.

Love it!
Excellent detail, wonderful perch with the lichen, and beautiful BG.
Great as is,  with the nice eye catchlight.
IMO, too much emphasis is put on "head turn" - makes all poses  look the same.
Very fine image!

No such thing as just a Chickadee when they pack so much personality into that little package, David.  A sweet shot of the bird with a nice perch and lovely bg.

My wife says everyone's fed up with the rain!

Killer background, killer perch, killer subject. Doesn't get much better than this. Excellent.

Well made, David. I agree with Sandy on the head turn. It means for one thing that you have put some stress on the bird to make it take notice. As for this image, the detail is sweet, the perch and BG are excellent!cool

Chickadees are one of my favourite birds, but boy are they hard to photograph! I would absolutely love to have this one in my collection. You are right about that background, just a beautiful colour palette! Really cool to have the moss covered branch, it adds to the photo in my opinion. Oh, and his pose looks just fine to me!
