Badger at 12 Weeks

I have not been taking very many natural history photos recently, so my posting has been nonexistent.  Badger the Bernese mountain dog pup is growing and he's now well over 30 pounds at 12 weeks of age. Jenny wants lots of pictures so I've been busy capturing this guy with pixels!  I set out a piece of damp paper towel to see whether my honeybees would use it as a source of drinking water.  Well the tormentor of bees showed up and removed the chunk of wet paper and proceeded to rip it apart.  I like this shot a lot--Badger does not seem to care that I'm snapping off some shots and the pup's expression came out well. K5 IIs 300 mm f4 (1/1000sec at f8.0, ISO 500).

Loving watching him grow! He's a beauty, and certainly photogenic.
I'd suggest a bit of work to that left eye so we can see it better and it doesn't get lost.  Those beautiful, expressive eyes should both be a focus of this sweet image.

His face is just precious. Love those nice little eye liners over his eyes. Ah the joys of Badger the destroyer...

Very cool close-up Jim, an almost comical expression..I like those gigantic paws FG & the devil-may-care attitude so well portrayed..devil

Other than maybe teasing out the left eye just a little this is about as good as a puppy shot can get. Great eyebrows. The size of those paws tells me 30 pounds is just the start.
