Jaguar Drinking

Here's a Jaguar taking a drink from the river in the Pantanal of Brazil, this is an older male, you can see some scars on his face, likely from battles with caiman and perhaps other male Jaguars.

What a regal warrior! Oh, the things he has probably gone through. Great image and that face conjures up all sorts of things in my mind.

Hi Nate,
He still looks good despite the scars. I love how he's framed by the branches.

Cheers,

Hisham.

Hi Nate,

Yep, that is a face with a history behind it - perhaps not as aesthetically pleasing as a less "beat-up" face to some, but certainly adds extra interest to the shot. Given the subject is in the shadows. I'm wondering if backing off the exposure a little on this shot might be an interesting alternate way to present it?

Cheers...thanks for sharing this one...

What a cool image. Love those patterns on him. Yeah, he looks like one tough cat. I like having him in his natural setting.  Nice one.

Cool frame,nicely executed!
Love, how the head is coming out of the frame of branches to drink.

A very relaxed image of this fierce cat Nate-love the full face angle and the visible tongue.
