I'd not posted an NPN Member photo in a couple years and thought I'd post this one from this morning near Whitewater here in SoCal.
The image was taken at one of the Pacific Crest Trail markers. The area is part of the Mojave National Monument and is at the most southern part of that vast area. The canyon is located between some of the highest peaks in SoCal and the very lower desert. As a result the canyon is a natural venturi.......and really propels the wind down through the area on most days.
My red face is a result more from the wind then anything to do with the bright sun this morning. Thankfully, my NPN hat remained intact during the stronger gusts today.......

A great photo of that trail marker, Paul. The guy along side looks pretty good too. Sounds like a fun area to explore at least somewhat like our Montana home, where days with winds below about 20 mph are considered "calm".

Hey Mark, as always I sincerely appreciate all your reviews and comments too. Yep, time to finally hang up this old NPN hat and hit the trail......
