This one is from last July, just down the street from our acreage. I had gone out with my Jeep exploring the back roads looking for any mammals to photograph. As I went around a bend in the road something caught my eye in the field beside me. I stopped the vehicle and looked closer and saw a White-Tailed Jack Rabbit sitting in the field. I parked my Jeep and got my gear and slowly exited the vehicle. Once the rabbit saw me he ran into the middle of the field, along with 2 others that I hadn't seen. There went my plan to photograph them, as I didn't want to chase them down and stress them out. I glanced to my right and there was a fourth rabbit laying down, not caring about the sudden rush of the 3 rabbits bounding through the field. I very slowly got a bit closer. No movement from the rabbit. I got on my knees and edged slightly closer, partly covered by the tall grass so he didn't fully see me. Still no movement from him. I then got my camera up to my face and got a few photos of him laying down. He then got up and started eating, still not caring about my presence. Something caught his attention to my left (possibly another rabbit) and he struck this regal pose

. I took as many photos as I could, knowing not many would turn out due to the low light. I was so happy that this one worked! I was shocked he let me photograph him for so long, as most of the rabbits in our area bolt if you so much as slow your vehicle down, haha.
Thank you for looking!

Nice shot of this fellow - tack-sharp, good pose, great eyes. The unattached whiskers on the top are a little odd.
BG and FG both perfect.
Very fine work!

Very simple, very clean, and with great detail and great light. What's not to like?
Super. 'Nuff said.
