Happily Pushing a Rock
by Ed Williams
This is a different angle of the little horned lizard at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in Southern California last Friday. With it's mouth open it looks like it is happily pushing the rock in this head on view. Canon 60D, f14, 1/2000 sec, iso 400, -1 EV, 100-400 ISL at 400 mm. Handheld, about 80% of original.

Fantastic. It's hard to humanize a horned lizard but this does it.
Cheers,
Hisham.
This one is really cool! Really good work on the exposure and the subject really pops off the background. And - like Hisham said - great job in almost "humanizing" a reptile! There is a little softness in the lizard's right lower leg but I see you were already stopped down to f14...so not much you could have done about that (and it would only be noticed by a picky photographer critiquing the image anyway!!).
Well done...thanks for sharing it...
Brad
Like the title, parted mouth and interesting pose as well.
