Coelogyne cristata.
The first of my  orchid collection to flower this year.
I did this as a normal stack with 7 images at f5 on the D7100. It came out as about normaql but I messed around with  Image guru and curves etc and overdid it. I decided to keep it as it came out with a strange "painted" effect. Don,t ask how or why!
The wife liked it anyway. Plenty of faults photographically I suppose. Thanks for looking.

John: A completely new flower for me and a real beauty. Even the thumbnail got my attention. Fine comp and a very complementary BG. 2+ thumbs up.>=))>

John, I was really drawn to this image.  Many images (mine included) are cast against a dark background.  I think the light background on your image really complements the subject giving it a warm spring appearance.  I like it!

John, I like the curve and the soft light/shadow in the petals. Nice work!

John, a real beauty. The flower, leaf and petals are not really complementary with the BG, but they do go together nicely. One small nit is the darkness of the lower back petal on the right, which almost disappears in the BG. An easy fix.

Congrats on a very well-deserved WP! This is just gorgeous! Colours, perspective, BG - all perfect.
