I found this wood duck drake in the same location I found the last one I posted last week. I just waited until this one was in the shade before I took the photo. Still a lot of ambient light reflected off the water, but it seems to have better color. Canon 5D3, f16, 1/160 sec, iso 800, 100-400 ISL at 380 mm, Handheld, small crop off the top and left side.

Beautiful Woody, good color and detail. The whites seem to be in gamut. The water is very pretty. My only, very minor quibbles are the angle is a little high and the duck is slightly turned away from you. These are very common problems and usually out of the photographer's control. All in all, a very good Wood Duck shot!

A great shot of this colorful duck!  The detail is excellent and the colors are wonderful.  I like the light silky look of the water.

Very beautiful, so much so that it looks like a painting.

I love the colors of the Wood duck and the drop of water off the beak. The ambient light reflecting off the water is a bit distracting but not a deal breaker. You could try isolating the duck and using a layer mask apply a slight gaussian blur to just the water or lower the saturation a bit for the water.

The larger images definitely shows the detail better.  I agree that the brightness of the water is a little distracting.  This is a place where a luminosity mask could be a benefit.  The reflection is really nice.  I do like the image of this Wood Duck.
