Beautifully detailed bird in a nice calling pose. There is a strong cyan caste in the whites on the bird and in the foreground grass. Easy to remove.

Phil, both the blue and cyan channels are at -100. Ran them at a second time to -100 and see no difference at all.
Do others see it as well?
If so, I'll re-calibrate again - last time was 2 weeks ago, and this is supposed to be a self-calibrating monitor.
???  Thanks, if something really is wrong.

Quite the bird, and a very nice composition and complimentary setting.

I agree with Phil about a color cast. I see it mostly along the edges of the black and white striped pattern, and I also think it is showing a bit in the grass by the rocks an it the sticks by the bird's feet.

Try the blue chanel instead of the cyan. I really don't know what this speices is supposed to look like so I can only guess at what might help.

I can't help you with color cast issues, but congratulations on getting this shot.  Wonderful details in the bird, and wonderfully OOF background.

Ok, re-calibrated, and cyan channel taken down to -100 4 separate times.
Can see a slight difference, I think.
Thank you!

Well done in catching this fellow out in the open. I like the second version better. Its a pity that we can't include the calls!

Sandy,
Great capture of this beautiful bird, not to sure about the colour cast but I prefer the repost which seems to have a darker background.
Sound would be great!

The repost did the trick - the color cast has been suppressed.

Terrific bird and capture, Sandy. The repost fixes any concerns I had.

You seem to have an endless supply of terrific African birdphotos.

Never seen this species posted before Sandy. I like the open beak and great job isolating this guy in what looks to be a challenging BG to work with.
