The last winter rose

by Giuseppe Guadagno

It is the last winter rose because the spring is knocking on the door. The roses are not only the most beautiful flowers bt also the strongest, the cold and the bad weather highlight its beauty.

D800E, Nikkor 200mm macro - f16 and ISO 250 - Manual blend of two shots with different points of focus.

Grateful for your opinions and advices.

Gigi, Very dark and moody - much different than your usual posts!
I like this a lot, especially the fine detail of the water droplets.
I'm surprised that  others - so far - have not seen the raw beauty here.
I bet this is the only shot of yours for a VERY long time that people are not commenting much on -
Something different, lovely,  and much admired -  IMO, at least.

A very beautiful, solemn image, Gigi.  I love the water droplets, and the placement of the flower on the black ground, with the upper stem just visible, is perfect for establishing the quiet mood of the image.

Gigi: One has to view the larger version to really appreciate how good this is. The subtle colors and the drops make the shot for me. Superb image.>=))>

A truly engaging image, Giuseppe.  Superb work.  I can't recall seeing a rose of this color before.
