Air Attack

This one is fro  last winter in Yellowstone's Lamar valley. I still remember I stopped to check what a videographer was looking at near the road around sunset. It wasn't long before the fox made an incredibly high jump (and missed). I managed 3 or 4 good frames of the jump despite the tricky position of the sun. It didn't snow much that year thus the sagebrush highly visible.

Canon 5D3 EF 600 mm F/4 II
1/1500s F/4 ISO 1600 Handheld (75% of original)

Cheers,

Hisham.

This is so good Hisham.  You did a great job of capturing the action with excellent light. Exposure looks great.

Dynamic frame n great techs! The warm colours of fox, contrast very well against snow.

Awesome timing on this Hisham! I wonder if it got what it's pouncing on? There is a white spot by it's butt I think I would clone out. Looks like it may be a piece of ice or something, but it pulls attention away from the action imo. Very cool capture!

Hi Hisham,

Good fun! I love the position you caught it in. Bit of a shame about the sagebrush in the immediate background taking a little away from the isolation/separation of the subject, but not a darned thing you could do about that.

Thanks for sharing this one...

Nothing like a beautiful red fox against white snow.

Great action shot. I have seen foxes do this but I have not been able to catch them like you have, fantastic.
