Three Plus Two

Mushrooms on a piece of wood with sunlit leaves in the background. On a beautiful autumn day at the 'Slotplaats', Bakkeveen, Netherlands. I used a little black umbrella to prevent direct sunlight but placed at some distance to avoid shade. All C&C very much appreciated.

Canon 40D, Sigma 150 mm, f/6.3, 1/6 sec, iso 100, CPL, tripod, Helicon remote, 8 image focus stack, combined with Zerene stacker.

Where are the little people, Igor? This is an outstanding look at these little mushrooms. The details in the mushrooms and the perch are great and the background coordinates perfectly colorwise as it adds an inviting warmth. Well seen!

Lovely mushrooms, Igor. Nice detail. I like the light and color in the background and also the eye level perspective. Well done!

Beautiful mushroom image, Igor. Excellent use of the sunlit bg. One of the best mushroom images I've seen posted here. devil

Love the image stacked mushrooms and the beautiful BG Igor. I would like to see a bit more directed light on the mushrooms themselves.

I like the composition and the warm BG in contrast with the color of the subjects.
Very well done!

Grreat lighting and structure on the mushrooms. I am a little confused about the bg, particulary the the coencentric rings; are these natural or the result in photoshop dodging and burning?

Great detail, light, technique, and subject.

Thanks very much for your comments.

@Floyd Hopper, my aim was to get a light and golden background. Using the dof button I chose the aperture such that the background was out of focus but not featureless. The 'discs' are out of focus reflections of beech tree leaves. Apart from focus stacking I didn't apply heavy postprocessing. Hope that clarifies things a bit. Igor H.
