Had to sneak one in tonight!
I have been terribly busy getting my "head in the game" for my MBA studies that have kicked off.

This photo was taken at an intense river crossing in the Mara Triangle last year.

Techs:
Nikon D800
Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 VR-II
f7.1  |  1/800 SS  |  ISO-160

Hi Morkel, This is very artistic and conveys ethereal feel. I love the oblique rays and monochromatic representation.

Lots of interesting texture here, Morkel, which really helps, since there's a bit lighter than I'd expect from such a scene in monochrome.  Because the dark tones and contrast aren't emphasized much, the textures and lines (dust, sunbeams, dirt, brush wildebeest) all become that much more important.

Love the action and especially the light, Morkel. Almost like the rays of light are punishing the poor wildebeest (which is kind of true as they're looking for rain).

Cheers,

Hisham.

Morkel, the almost competing effects of two kinds of illuminated dust (the streaming "God's rays" type alongside the more clumpy low to the ground dust clouds) really do an interesting job of contributing to the sense of movement and chaos, magnifying the emotion of the scene.  Fine posting.
