Yet Another Tree

This is a 30 second long exposure in the twilight 30 or 40 minutes after sunset. I feel that the naked eyes could not see these delicate colors, unless the image is taken by a camera.

Do you like the composition, colors, and mood? Do you like the twigs of this tree? What can be improved if I return to this place?

Thanks,
Bo

Yes, the colors are quite beautiful and the silhouetted tree looks great. I might crop from the right to eliminate the distraction  on the horizon.

I like this with the colors and the lone tree.  I agree with cropping or cloning to remove the distracting elements on the horizon on the right.

Agree...the colors are rad.  Consider square crop actually.  Fun place to keep visiting!

A square crop makes sense to me as well.

I like the first one, because of the sense of open space it gives, to me, the square is fine but it puts the emphasis on the tree, and you lose the sense of the tree being out alone in an open space, (hope that makes sense)

I'd have to try and "black" or touch out the stuff on the right, sort of blend it into the blackness, but that's just me,

I like the statement it makes

I agree with shooting in the early and late evening civil twilight. not an easy task but well worth the effort

Great pic

The repost is an improvement. Simple is good here.

I managed to remove the clutter on the right.

In fact I knew the clutter would be a problem when shooting this image. If the camera could be lower a little bit, or moved backwards, the clutter might have been out of sight. I didn't try. This was one of the last images before I packed up. It was high wind, cold, and dark. My friend seemed not want to hang on for a bit longer. I thought I could remove that in PS.

Anyway, it is always easier and better if the composition flaw is fixed in the field.

Bo,

The colors are gorgeous and the tree near - perfect.  The composition is solid, but will echo the other comments about the distracting elements on the right.  Either a careful clone, or a crop.  I actually think cropping in from the right to center the tree would also be a very strong composition.  It breaks the "rule" of not centering, but what makes it work is the color gradient;pinks, purple to the left, blues to the right.

And to return? If this is local to you, by all means, return again and again; each season and catching during unique clouds, lighting or weather events.  this could be the gift that keeps on giving... ;-)

The simple tree placed against the colorful gradient bg worked well, Bo. I prefer the original comp vs the centered one. You did a good job removing the objects at the far right in the repost of the original. Definitely my preference.

The full frame re-post with the bits of stuff on the right cloned out works best for me. I like the blue and the hints of color on the left. The tree looks really nice.

My pick is the crop with the tree centered Bo; it works well here.
