Sony A77II
Minolta 200mm macro

Thanks to Patricia Brundage I discovered some of the creative modes that my A77II does in camera. I've done a number of postings in Photo Art using the Illustrate mode but this one was accomplished in the Watercolor mode which is clearly not as overt a manipulation as the Illustrate effect so I decided to post it here. All comments welcome.>=))>

Bill,
This is gorgeous. Great treatment of the reds. I don't know if it's the original dof or the watercolor mode that gives it the softness, but I like it. You can almost feel the velvety petals.
I wonder what it looked like without the watercolor effect.

Looks pretty good to me Bill.
if you hadn't mentioned the effect used I maybe wouldn't have noticed it.! It does show more in the biggie though
Cheers

A real beauty, Bill. I like the Watercolor effect. It's more and natural subtle than the illustrate mode, but yet gives this a very nice artistic flair. Everything else is excellent here as well - comp, color, bg. Well done!

An interesting work Bill. It is very pleasant to loot at it. May be it could be a beautiful image all the same taking the nice rose with a very large diaphragm. I love this romantic photo.

I would have had no idea this was a specific mode of shot, Bill - it has a perfectly natural look to me.  Delightfully simple composition, great colour and, above all, a lovely play of soft and sharp through the petals.
