Camelia in Shade

The camelias are in full bloom at the Huntington Gardens after a great rain year here in Southern California. I did some selective lightening and darkening to try to bring out the contrast between  the shaded area and the lightened areas. Canon 5DIII, f11, 1/500 sec, iso 640, -1.4 exp bias, 100-400 ISL lens at 340 mm. Thanks for your thoughts.

The high contrast lighting brings out the flower colour beautifully, Ed.  The overall arrangement and lighting are first class - I love especially how the purple at bottom R complements the petal colours, and also how the touch of light in the R background adds depth.  Lovely image  devil

Good use of spotlighting. Using your long lens on this worked well for you.

Ed, I like the shadows on the petals. Nice selective lightening and darkening processing too.
