Sony A77II
Minolta 200mm macro
ISO 400, 1/20 @ f16

As I walked out the door camera in hand I announced to my wife that I was going to go out for a frustration session. Our Jane Magnolia has been flowering like crazy and I had a pretty clean shot at the center of this bloom BUT it was blowing pretty hard and I was afraid the lulls in the breeze were likely to be few and far between. Oh well, that's why we have high frame rates and delete buttons!sad I did indeed suffer some frustration shooting and spent way too much time on the computer weeding out the rejects but I did get a few keepers. If I was still shooting film I would have stayed inside but pixels are really cheap and I think the result was worth the effort. All comments welcome. >=))>

Fine by me Bill. No real nits, but you might explore a crop from the bottom just to limit the OOF white lip.

Excellent, Bill. I like the dof managment which puts the entire center in focus. The other thing that is really nice about this image is the warm light giving the center a nice glow. No suggestions from me. Looks great to me as is.

You got a really nice image Bill. Your DOF is great for capturing the core. Beautiful colors. I wonder if you could selectively darken or tone down the OOF white petal in the front LLHS to give more emphasis to the center.

The result is surely worthy Bill. The center is splendid and looks a bit three-dimentional to my eyes. A difficult but excellent work.

Beautifully done, Bill - and well worth the effort !   I like the slightly shady tone of the centre and also that sharp petal edge coming in from the top R.  I just wonder how it would have looked with the petal edge mid L also sharp - but maybe that would have obtruded on the centre too much ?  The softness of the upper petal really captures the feel of this lovely flower.
