Verdant

I haven't had time to work up any new images recently so here is an older image.  I posted this in the RMNP forum a few years ago, but I don't remember posting it here.

This was taken from an inconic CO location (bonus points if you can guess the icon!  sad).  As the title suggests, I was drawn to the green especially in the reflection in the lake.  The foliage was wet from heavy rains earlier in the afternoon and the greens were really popping.

Capture Info:
100 mm
f/16 @ 1/10 sec

Processing:
Curves adjustment; TK's Smart Glow action, slight vignette.

Brian,

Dream Lake?  Never been there, but that's my guess.

Verdant indeed!  But enough variation of green and the rock to make this a very pleasing composition.  The only suggestion would be to back off the saturation - but only in the reflection. But that's minor and of course subjective.  The vignette is subtle, but actually quite effective; good choice.

The large view of course is a must see.  Although it did reveal a small patch of gray (trunk?) on the upper left edge you might consider cloning or cropping. Another minor point.

Excellent mountain landscape.

Lon

The trees form a nice circle around the beauty in the middle great take, but I would like to see more of the reflection that mesmerized and compelled you to take this image. I know you see that part of the image in your mind , I feel short changed. Three horizontal shots for a panorama would have given you plenty real estate to accomplish this. A little less Verde would still make this image a perfect example of  "Verdant". As for the location I am clueless.

I can't guess the location, Brian, but I like the image.  The vibrant trees and added vignette work very well to frame this. I also noticed the grey trunk on the left edge, that Lon pointed out.  There is also a light colored patch about a third of the way up the left edge that I would also remove.  Really nice work.

That's pretty; it almost has an abstract feel, with all that bright green.  There's a cool shape that arises from the rocks around the edge and shape of the clearing.
It doesn't seem completely sharp, but maybe that's just a sizing thing.....or is it my eyes, after all it's getting kind of late. cool

Very nice, Brian. The green color and reflection provide a nice sense of serenity. The white flowers in the LRC and their reflection are a nice bonus element.

Brian: you've made a photo with very good light, subject and  composition which is very appealing. My only nit is that I wish there was more of the reflection. Richard

A very tranquil high lake scene. I am enjoying the rich greens, but like Lon, I find it on the saturated side. The vignette looks quite natural and works well, too. Your image makes me want to pull up a chair and relax here for a while.

This is a very nice mountain scene, Brian. It certainly live up to your title. The arrangement of the trees and the rocks, along with the reflection, gives this peaceful feel.

HI Brian,

I really enjoy this peaceful Alpine view, and wow love those vibrant greens. I could see maybe slight reducing the saturation in the reflections, but really dig how relaxing this view is overall.

Some sweet work bro.
