Canoe Lake

This photo was shot in a solo trip to Algonquin Park, Ontario. It was autumn and the fall leaves are red and golden, showing the best colors of the year. The lake was serene, and the reflection was perfect.

The sun was just set, and it was getting dark. I shot this photo very quickly and went on my way to the hotel outside the park.

I was actually there for gas. There was a gas station and it was the only one. But a sign was posted on the pump saying "closed for the season". Lesson learned: never go into the vast area of the park with half tank. Fortunately I did not run out of gas on my way to the gas station 50+ KM away.

Didn't do location scouting, otherwise I would have been there a bit earlier when sun was setting. Do you like the colors, composition and the mood?

Thanks,
Bo

I almost never say this, but I would be tempted to boost the saturation in the trees to bring them out more.  I really like the composition, even centered as it is.

Yes, I do like the colors, the compostion, and the mood.  Perfect for your level of angst regarding the pump but no gas. Well done

Beautiful and so inviting! Looks like a place I would love to paddle a canoe. Calm and peaceful and I like it very much. Nice web processing too.
