Another one from DV, this time up at the Eureka Dunes on the south side.

Eyup, I also wish there was a bit more room at the top but that being said I could post sand photos all day long ;-)   I always find my way back to the dunes when in DV and monochrome seems like a natural way to present them.

DA, this is an excellent desert scene. It still works nicely even being tight over the cresol? bush.
As far as more room at the top I add to sky areas often if needed with more canvas and working CA & with cloning if required. This looks like any easy one to do that to......cool

The ripples in the sand pulling my eyes into this scene are great, Dave.  I think your comp. works very well with it's emphasis on the sand and the tree clump even as there's lots of additional "environment" to explore in this view.  The tight fit up top is at most a minor nit.

Those ripples make great leading lines, and the monochrome treatment emphasize that even more.  I like the composition as is, but just a tiny bit more sky would not hurt it.  Whether it would be an improvement or not is up to you, but as Paul notes, it would not be difficult to make it happen if you so desire.  I don't regard putting back some missing sky as adding anything that was not already there.
