African Wild Dog

This African wild dog, (African hunting dog, African painted dog) and pack kept coming into camp and this was taken just after lunch, but it appeared I was the only one interested, considering it's such an endangered animal. Light was bright and so Exposure was being constantly checked, as they darted back & fourth in the tall grasses.

Thanks to those who viewed or posted a comment on the previous thread.

This is a fine portrait of one of these elusive animals. Detail is quite good, given the harsh light. i wonder if a program like Nik's Viveza (now free with the entire free Nik collection) would help recover more detail in the shadowy areas.
Nice alert pose and typical environment. Well-placed in the frame, as well.
Well done!

Very nice image. The light was working against you here, but you made the most of it. I took the liberty of selectively lightening and darkening the image to balance out the exposure. I hope you don't mind. See what you think.

Stately pose!  I am glad he is not looking at the lens.  Yes, too bad the light was so contrasty.

Thanks Jerry, but for me it doesn't reflect the light at the time and although the RP may address the 'balancing of light' the contrasting conditions is part of the capture.

Yes, too bad the light was so contrasty. - Indeed Lon, but that's wildlife for youas they often never play ball when you want them to, or the light.cool

Thanks.
