Wainiha Bay, Kauai

Sand is hard to find in Yellowstone, so I had to go back in my archives for this mid-afternoon view along the beach on the North Shore of Kauai in 2010.  While the light can be stark at this time of day, it does a great job of saturating colors.  I've also uploaded both a large and small version.  In viewing these, it seems that uploading both versions minimized the differences between them.  (5D, 24-70 f2.8 @ 38mm, f/11, 1/200s, iso 200, tripod and polarizer)

I really love the color of the water in this image. There's nothing like it. I used to chase bonefish at Christmas Island and would forget the fishing. I sort of wish this was more about the water than the sand.

Mark, a very "crisp" view here. Love all of the contrasting colors throughout. The sky and clouds are a real plus to this wonderful beach take. The bit of diagonal view of the white water in stop action is excellent....laugh

Edit: I forgot to mention the all important "sand" too......it looks good also....sad

This is so inviting Mark. Bright, cheery, colorful, peaceful, amazing there isn't a huge crowd, and oh so inviting.

Nice, Mark. I like the vibrant colors.  A nice catch of the wave coming in as well.

A beautiful place and a wonderful photo with leading lines into that nice polarized sky.  I like the way the frothy white water acts as a line of demarcation between the golden sands in the turquoise water.  Time for another trip to Hawaii.
