Male Anhinga in mating plumage. Get'n lucky is how I felt with the pose and the environment that came together for this shot.
Hand held from boat, 70% of full frame, overcast conditions.

Mike, what a unique photo.  I like the colors and the dark background that works well with them.  It is a great catch of the mating display.  The perch creates an excellent leading line to draw the eye to the subject.  To my eye, the whites look slightly over exposed, the difficult area on a dark bird.  Excellent image overall.

I think you did very well to get this from an unstable and moving boat. That's a tough exposure, with a lot of contrast to deal with. I can wish for a bit more detail in the black plumage, but I wouldn't want to gain that at the expense of the white feathers and the bright perch.

This photo really shows off the male Anhinga very well.   It looks superb against the dark background.  You did very well to capture this under really tough conditions.  You've got what needs to be sharp very sharp.  I like what you did with this.

Great job on the exposure, Mike. Those head feathers are awesome. Really nice scene with the spanish moss hanging down. A bit of color fringing in the back of the bird, but that may do to the compression for posting.

A wonderful capture of this handsome fellow in his natural habitat Mike.

The awesome fluffed up head plumage puts this one over the top for me.
