Descending to Thompson P

Descending to Thompson Pass - - After hiking up on the high ridges of the mountains with the dogs, we were descending down to Thompson Pass.  I liked the scene and decided I wanted to capture it in high detail so I shot a multi-frame composite.  This is 3 rows of vertical photos for a total of 24 24mp photos.  This one just about brought my old computer down to it's knees when performing even simple adjustments on it.

Sony a6000, SE-1670Z @ 55mm, ISO-100, f/11.0, 1/250, 3 rows of 8, hand held.

For some idea of the resolution of this image, hear is a 100% crop of the highway near the middle of the image.  You can even see the curve arrow on the sign.

What a beautiful scene.  Nice detail front to back, great lighting, color, sky and the haze takes it to another level.  No nits, suggestions or critiques... just perfect.

Yeah, amazing how a "few" shots combined add up to gigabits and even start to choke Photoshop, Gary.  This is a great "long view" with the streams leading in, the mountain and touch of cloud/fog in the mid-ground and the distant peaks.  The "I am there" presence in the larger view is wonderful.

Gary, there has to be a road less traveled and truly wishing I was on it it right now. I hear you on the PC bogging down. I have to watch my multi scans of my MF or LF film images. They can get out of control fast with regard to size.

Love the view from this spot and can see why you took the time to soak it all in and capture so many images form here. The gorge and water flow just leads us straight back to the road there, neat travel log image IMO.

Gosh, just saw the second image. Excellent detail there.

Oh Man, it just doesn't not get an better than this!  Gorgeous Vista, color, light, and atmosphere in a perfectly balanced composition with leading lines that could be a lovely landscape by themselves.  Well worth hundreds of megapixels, even if it might take a new computer to process it.

For people like me, who can't get to a place like this, standing in front of a HUGE print or projection of this is the next best thing.  Thanks for the efforts you made to share it so well.

Technically impressive image.  The level of detail is amazing.  And it's a very nice composition on top of that.  Good job.
