Tide Flat Blues

Standing in the tide flats on the South side of the bay (which is in the shade during the winter) and looking at the morning light on the North mountains.  It was right after a good snowfall so some of the stormy clouds were still hanging around.

Sony a6000, SE-1670Z @ 16mm, ISO-100, 1/200, hand held, 3 horizontal photos stitched.

Sure looks like a lot of tidal flats, Gary.  I really like the crispness of the clouds and sky as well as the partially obscured mountains in the distance.

Gary, another nice frozen north look to this scene. Detail leading across the tide flats is excellent. Draws the viewer toward the distant mountain range.
I'd be really tempted to crop in from the left for a test look at eliminating that hill jetting in on the side. As the flats and the distant mountains are the main view IMO I think that small area could be dropped for another look. Not a nit at all, just would be another look.

Man, the large version is absolutely spectacular.  Everything looks so clear and clean, so I think simplifying this by cropping off the hill on the left might make it even "cleaner."

"Tide Flat Blues" would be a great song title. There are other "_____ Flat Blues" songs, so I bet some local musicians might be inspired by this image. ;^)

Ha, I see Paul had the same idea about cropping.  That hill does provide some perspective, so I see why you would want to keep it.  Just thinking "less is more" here, even though I often disagree with that idea.

Nice detailed view leading one towards the mountains.   I can feel the cold.  I'm wishing for a little more brightness on the tide flats and I agree that the mountain on the left could be cropped out.
