16 commentsA very handsome bird. The perch and pose are very nice. The larger version is once again showing significantly different colors . The only current solution is preparing and posting both the larger version and the smaller version.
In both, my reaction is that the image would benefit with a darker green background to not compete with the beautiful cardinal.
I wanted to see if it helped, so I did a quick couple of adjustments. See what you think. (This "smaller" version has the sRGB color space embedded in it).
'However, there is only a small difference on my monitors.
Frankly, since I post on several sites and all have their specific requirements, I am just not going to make 6 or more versions of every single image I post, plus another for my website and another for emails to friends, and still others for contests. I have been cleaning up my computer and back-ups the last several months, and I have 25,000++ images with many copied 10-12 times, and that is ridiculous.
I feel that the NPN requirement to make up and post 2 separate images is just not reasonable, when it is entirely possible to set up the site so that is not required. My opinion only.

Hi Sandy: I completely agree and have been pushing to resolve this issue for a long time. If you look at the LONG thread in the forums about site updates, I brought it up again. That said, until it is resolved, if you want your images to look their best, the only solution is to create both the small and large versions. After posting I simply delete the 2 jpeg versions.
Congrats!
Good stuff.

Beautiful image, I usually just post a large version and let the site create the small one.
But you can get variations in colour?
I have a particular problem, as been documented several times. It's mostly MY fault, since i have not had time to change my workflow to add several steps I was deleting re imbedding colour profiles, and more.
Richard Ditch offered me great help, and now Keith Bauer has taken the time to develop a step-by-step guide for the 4 most common workflows to help us all post correctly.
The document is in the final stages of readiness and Keith should be able to get it posted on NPN next week. A
A huge thanks to him for the effort!
