I made this picture awhile back and just decided to reprocess it for a large print and the print looks fantastic... IMO.

I originally posted it here but it isn't in my gallery anymore and I wanted to post the newly processed image. Actually very little change but I do like it better over the original version.
I shot the picture at Forest Lake which is part of the AuTrain River in Upper Michigan. There was very heavy fog that fall morning while driving to this location and I actually had a hard time finding the gravel and rocky road going back to this spot. This is an island out in the lake just as the sun came up over a hill behind the island. I shot it with a telephoto lens to compress the scene across the water and fog and single out this part of the island for my composition. This has ended up being one of my favorite shots of the past few years. Check the large version for much better view and detail.

Igor, Thanks! I did give that some thought but I already did the large print and it seemed to look really good at that size so I just decided to leave it as it is for this post too. Nick
OH MY. A gorgeous image. From the thumbnail, I wasn thinking a Monet reflection image... tree trunks emanating from the top.... but then opening this and pow, a whole different experience. Which is a great thing. I LOVE this image. Atmosphere, light, color and the unknown... simply fabulous.
No other words or suggestions. Well done!

This is such a sweet Autumnal image. The fog is very nice and I really enjoy how it is picking up the colors of the light. The reds are just gorgeous here, and this image has such a special mood about about. I kind of feel this image is the essence of Fall Nick.
A stunner
