The Perfect Cheetah Pose

by Mario Moreno

A Cheetah uses a rock to get a higher view of the plains around her. Image captured in the Mara North Conservancy while hosting a photo safari last August. We have been very fortunate lately with cheetahs in Mara North with several individual and cubs hanging around. I hope they are not chased away by the crazy mount of lions and hyenas in this area.

That is a perfect pose.  It seems like the colors of many African animals go so well with the colors of African vegetation.  It looks really nice.

Mario,
No idea why I missed this before, a slight head turn would have made his even betterdevil

Doesn't get much better than this. My only nit is more room all around if you have it. Well done.

I do love this pose.  The cheetah and rock are a perfect pair.  I wish there were a bit more breathing room along the top of the frame, but I understand if this was full frame already.

Hi Mario,

No argument at all that this is a great pose...though I'm not sure I'd call it perfect (I agree with Ken that it would be even a little better with a slight head turn...so I'd go with "close to perfect!" enlightened).

While clearly a eye-catching image, for my taste (= personal preference) this one is framed too tightly...it would work better for me with more room on the left and top.

Cheers...thanks for sharing this one...
