I find the treatment of background quite interesting and would ask what post processing was applied.  Also eyes seem enhanced for impact, but the effect is arresting.  I am moving this to "man and fauna" gallery as per posting guidelines, found at the top right of the page when you are logged in.

A very effective image of this highly endangered and controversial wolf.  I  was there years ago and it is a very good place to visit.
Thanks for sharing.

Hey Gerald,
Mesmerizing was my first reaction to this image. The lighting, detail and colors are all excellent. The subject feels way to tight in the composition for my taste and you would lose an unacceptable amount of canvas if this image was framed to hang on the wall (were it surely belongs). If you have it, additional canvas on the top and left would improve this already nice image IMO.
Well done and look'n forward to your comments on other's work . . .  devil

Excellent portrait of the wolf.
Fine fur detail, mesmerizing eyes, and a cool Bg - but I also wonder what it is!

Amazing eyes. Great photo, like how the lines behind him bring out the texture in his fur. The colors in this photo are wonderful.
