Carolina Wren

I met up with Nate during one his Texas trips last spring.  I'm just starting to look at what I shot during that trip.  I guess I'm a little behind.  I don't recall why the iso 3200.  It must have been early.

600mm

This came out quite nicely considering the high ISO.  My only nit would be the light gray areas in the background which. for  me take my eye away from the bird.

Gotta love the pose the Wren gave you.  Details look great.  Not wild about the large perch and the OOF part of it at the very bottom of the frame though.

Hi Charlie,

A pretty nice comp--you could crop about a fifth from the bottom  to eliminate the OOF base of the perch.  BG is nice and smooth and the wren gave you a nice look...................................Jim

A favorite eastern species that I mis here in AZ. Nice to see one in the open like this. Image quality looks quite nice even at that high ISO.

Nice one, Charlie.  A wonderful wren pose and really sweet perch.

Great detail, nice background, really cute look of and from the bird.  I agree that you might try cropping a bit from the bottom to eliminate some of the OOF portion of the perch.

Great pose with the tail up Charlie. I agree with others about cropping away some of the bottom. The post must have been leaning away from you a bit to go oof like that. Decent background too.

Excellent - wonderful pose, bright eye, sharp detail. I'd personally darken the stump a bit, and darken the upper right light area.
Very nice work!

Perfect wren pose.  Love the weathered perch.  The large perch does not bother me as wrens frequently use them in my area.  I do think the image would be stronger had you been able to get the entire perch in focus.  Subject and perch pop nicely off the background.  Well done.
