Hi Jagdeep,

Interesting shot! I like how you've followed the "conventional" rule of thirds approach in splitting the frame...and that certainly helps to emphasize the low angle the image was shot at. At the same time the "nature" of the water (not particularly "smoothly out-of-focus") isn't quite as appealing as it could be. But that is largely a function of the lens you shot the image at (and a combination of not having a huge aperture and with typical "zoom lens" out of focus zones...which are rarely as smooth as with good primes). We are all aware of the trade-off of the convenience of a zoom vs. the sharpness of a prime lens, but fewer folks seem to have a full appreciation for the major difference between primes and most zooms in how the out-of-focus zones are rendered (even if the images are shot at the same aperture).

Anyway...partly thinking out loud...I still very much like the shot and the heron is a nice addition or bonus when one's eyes are searching around the image.

Cheers...

Brad

Being able to see the ribs on a rhino?  I never would have imagined.  This is the first picture I have ever seen of a rhino in water, too. Neat.   I like having the heron on there, too.
