I took this shot today in Cape Coral, Fl quite a bit after sunset. As I was about to head home, this burrowing owl was "waking up" and inspecting its surroundings in preparation for a night of hunting.

Canon 5D3 E 70-200 F/2.8 II
1/250s F/2.8 ISO 3200

Cheers,

Hisham.

Hisham, I do love the atmosphere and color, and the owl is lit better than I first thought when I saw the thumb.

I think the placement of the building/tree(?) or whatever the dark shape is, along with the lights, happens to be too close to the owl, and becomes a distraction.  Had there been a bit more space between the subject and those background elements it wouldn't have been as much of an issue.

I really like the concept here, Hisham.  The exposure of the foreground and owl seems about right for my tase, but the large oof lump on the left and the four specular highlights are major distractions for me.  I'd also think about cropping some off the left and top to decenter the owl horizontally a bit more.  Excellent detai lin the bird and a wonderful pose.
