Gadwall Pair

Got these yesterday at a local wildlife viewing area (Gray Lodge).  Did some photoshop work with this one.  I used the content-aware move tool to move the female from the far left end of the frame to be closer to the male.  Please let me know if I pulled this off okay.  Also, how does it look in general?  D500, 150-600 @ 600, F8, 1/5000, IS0 1000, HH.  Thanks for looking.

The move looks like it worked very well, Jim.  There's a bit of color fringing on the male, probably because the focus isn't quite as crisp on it, though still quite acceptable.  The bg is looking rather grainy, so you might want to run some noise reduction or a touch of blur on it.

Nice work.

It looks like excellent work on using the content-aware move tool, and I think the resulting space is great.

I see what Dennis talking about with the grainy background, but I see that a lot in images.  I wonder if it's because people don't run noise removal on the background or if there's some other reason for it, or if maybe they just prefer a grainier look in some images.

Looks great to me.
The major PS work of completely moving the duck might require this to go into Photo Art.
Nice positioning of the ducks, and subtle colours.
I'd personally move the ducks down in the frame a bit.
Nice work!

Your PP looks good, would not have known..
Very nice work getting both sharp in the frame. Perhaps a bit more angle towards you would have been nice...

Jim,
This has worked well, and if you had not told us I doubt that anyone would have known.
I would definitely run some NR on the background and perhaps a tad more contrast?

The move tool worked nicely here; I would never have suspected it.

Very nicely lit pair of Gadwall's.  I agree that you did a good job with the move tool.  Looks very natural.  A good winter shot.

Nice work on the processing Jim. Looks very natural. I like the comp as posted as well as the trees in the bg. I agree that some NR may help the bg.

Thanks everyone for all your helpful comments.  Before posting the grain in the background was not apparent.  Glad to hear the move looks natural.
