Pelican + Fish

While waiting for Eagles this Pelican snagged a fish pretty close to me and I managed a few images. This is cropped vertical from a horizontal image. I cropped it tight to not only show the fish but the interesting throat structure. I had never seen inside a Pelicans mouth like this before. It was fun watching it swallow the fish whole. The light was tough, I made some adjustments including highlights/shadows and some selective sharpening.

Thanks for looking, comments & suggestions are always appreciated!

Excellent, Steve.  A really cool angle on this.  Not one I've seen before.  You did an beautiful job handling the dof and the light.

What a great image of the inner pouch and anatomy!  Perfect perspective.
It IS quite tight in the frame; I'd suggest backing off a bit.
Very sweet image!

The tightness doesn't bother me since it helps emphasize important details in the shot.  Very unique capture.  Welll done.devil

A very unusual, but unique view of pelican feeding behavior you captured here Steve.

Wonderful details, I like this very much as presented.
