White-crowned Sparrow (Zonotrichia leucophrys)

Exposure: ISO 800, Aperture priority matrix metered, 1/200th @ f/8
Raw on Mac, PS CC 2017, 68% of frame

Although this is an abundant species in winter in central AZ I still enjoy photographing them anywhere I find them. This adult began feeding on seed from the low plants as soon as the sunlight reached this spot.

One of my favorite birds, Richard, but largely because around here it's my favorite spring song. Nice image with some different and interesting light. I like the way the bird snuggles into the plant. There's a "graininess" to the upper bg that I get with certain backgrounds and find visually disturbing, but It would be really tough to work around the plant to smooth it out.

I love the light, the focus and the detail. I like the way at the moment the bird has its own private plant. :)

Excellent coupling with the bird and the foliage almost appearing like another set of feathers. Good lighting as well.
