A trumpeter swan with three of her five cygnets floating in a flooded field of brush and grasses.  The silty water that was slowly settling caused the grayish color of the water and the few autumn leaves still clinging to the brush provided a nice splash of contrasting color and echoed the bright pink of the cygnets beaks.  The strong reflections added some extra impact also.

Nice composition, Gary.  I do like the splash of color from the leaves.  Was the adult really that gray-or could you boost the brightness a bit?

I really like the colors in this image.  The pairings of the swans are very nice and I especially like the mirroring of the beaks with the plants in the background.  The colors really work well together.

IMO this photo has the potential to be really drab, BUT the splashes of color you captured make it GREAT.  It appears the adult is a bit dark, but not a deal breaker for me.  Congrats.

Sweet capture.  That touch of orange in the foliage a nice complement to the muted tones.
