"Does This Make My Butt Look Big?"  The first thing that popped into my mind when I saw this image on my computer.

7DII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 302mm, Jobu Gimbal mounted to blind window, f/8, 1/400, iso 1000, aperture priority, pattern metering.  I had full sun for this so I wasn't using fill flash.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  My point of focus was on the back of the Jay, so I gave the head a little extra sharpening.  Cropped to 13.9 MP before resizing.  Taken January 2nd at 10:11 AM.

Comments and criticisms are very much appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

It does make his butt look big! Lots to like here, the pine perch is very pleasing and I like the pine cone on the right. Too bad it's tip is cut off...maybe you still have it? The bird and perch stand out well from the background. Cool bird (never seen one) with sweet detail.  devil

Nice one. I liked the fact you focused on the back.
Perch is also nice!

Nice detail in this image of a west coast Stellars Jay!  I like the way the OOF white circles frame the jay's head.  TFS

Very nice look at the jay.  Nice head turn and the eye shows well.  Excellent detail throughout.  I like the perch; has a very northwest feel to it.

Nice bird and pose. Thr natural light was sufficient to keep the black areas from blocking up.

Nice pleasing image Dennis. I do wish the head was a bit more upright instead of pointed away from the viewer. Nice exposure on this with what looks like limited light.

Always nice to have a head turn and a full look on the butt, uh back I mean cool. Nice setting for this Jay. Cheers, Hans
