I liked how the lines of the scree interacted with the branches of the bristlecone. From the White Mountains, CA.

A lovely composition, Dave, and I really like the palette.  Beautiful colors and textures in the bristlecone.  Well done.

Another fine take on contrasting shapes, Dave.  The eroded shapes of the hills create some striking diagonals that set off the warmth and amorphous shape of the snag beautifully.

Lots of great textures and subtle colors here with a striking primary subject and of course those strong diagonal lines!

I'm enjoying this composition, and I like the title you chose.  It seems as if the tree is reaching out for something.  I'd only suggest a little more room at the bottom, if possible.  Is that some frost at the bottom of the trunk on the left?  Or is it just weathered wood?
