Leaf-cutter Ants

A pair of Leaf-cutter Ants on the jungle floor at Rancho Naturalista in Costa Rica. This image was lit with the Nikon R1 C1 macro flash system. Two lights mounted on the front of the lens, a third flash was used to light a large leaf that I propped up behind the scene for the background.

Nikon D300S, 105mm macro/with tubes, 1/200th @ f16, ISO 200

Somebody's not carrying their weight.  A fine view of these ants in action with xcellent details and exposure.

Very interesting image!
The large version seems quite soft, especially the ants. Looks as if the focus was on the leaf rather than the ants.
